Invite for YCC in Season Opener

The YCC team have been invited to take part in the tradional season opener in the Teesside League.

Normally the J V Madden Trophy takes place between the League Champions and McMillan Bowl winners, but as Richmond Town have left the League to join the Wearside League, Whinney Banks and Richmond Mavericks have been invited as Runners up in both competitions.

The game will take place on Saturday 11th August, a week before the League campaign begins, at a venue to be decided.


In addition the 1st division was confirmed with 14 clubs, Richmond Town and Darlington GRSA resigning, with 2nd Division champions Darlington Rugby Club and runners up Redcar Athletic replacing them.

Lingdale Utd, Thirsk Falcons and Bedale were accepted into the 2nd division, taking the that division to a toatl of 13 teams for the season.
