We picked up only 4 points from our opening 7 games of the season even though we had put in some decent performances. We were still trying to bed in some new signings and find the best starting line up. Things changed for the better when Lee Allen was asked to play at centre back against Hendon. He played there for nearly the whole of the rest of our games and results picked up markedly. After Xmas with new players Sam Prior included we improved even further and steadily climbed the table until we were in 7th with 8 games to go. Liam Schmidtke joined us on deadline day and after losing twice narrowly we then ended the season with a record breaking 6 consecutive wins to snatch a satisfying 5th place in the league.
