windermere failed in their bid to reach a 3rd final in 2 seasons after a last minute goal snatched a victory for showboat. windermere looked out of sorts for long periods of the game and failed to deal with showboats workrate and smothering tactics.
the first half ended goal less with both sides creating very little and a generally scrappy midfield battle taking centre stage. the second half finally came to life after showboat scored when a left wing low cross was tapped in all to easily from around 7 yards. windermere responded to going behind and where rewarded with a penalty for handball converted by anthony hopkins. windermere pushed on looking for a winner but when jhon brady was sent off for a second yellow card showboat pushed windermere back and began to look threatening. showboats hard work and endeavour was rewarded with 1 minute left when a right wing cross to the back post was met with a header to give showboat their passage to the final. despite only 1 minute being left windermere had a chance to equalise through leon who unfortunately spooned the ball high over the bar. all in all a below par performance from windermere paired with a good hard working showboat side madde the difference.
