Wisbech St Mary Youth Football Club was formed in 1993 by Keith Williams who was originally involved with youth soccer in a village called Friday Bridge which is just outside Wisbech. The reason for the move was that the facilities in Friday Bridge were no longer available so Keith approached Wisbech St Mary who agreed in principal that if just 1 child from the village was playing football for a team from within the village it was the way forward.
In 1995 the first Five A Side Tournament took place and since then has gone from strength to strength to be one of the largest events of its kind within East Anglia.
With Keith Williams moving on to become Youth Development Officer for Wisbech Town FC in 1995. The structure of the club changed and Martin Holmes was elected as President. This has led steadily to the culmination of the club as it exists today.
The season 2002-2003 saw the club grow to 23 teams competing in various leagues throughout the region and was also the season the club was awarded The Charter Standard Club Award.
Since then the addition of a new club house, pitches and lighting stanchions over the last few years have added greatly to the facilities. This has been enjoyed immensely by the club and its many visitors, from the myriad of leagues teams at the club now enjoy participating in.
