PSUK London 2010
28 Jun 2010

W.M.P travelled to London as PSUK champions, and were to face 6 other police teams from across the country.

W.M.P made it through the group stages unbeaten, finishing top of the group with a massive goal difference goal difference over MetPol.

Over the two hottest days of the year, and amid a level of politics, both W.M.P and MetPol got a bye to the Semi Finals where W.M.P faced the depleated Northumbria squad.
A convincing 6-0 win moved W.M.P to their second successive PSUK final, and had to wait 30 minutes to find out who their opposition would be.

As predicted W.M.P would face home force MetPol in the final.
Both manager Steve Nelson and Assistant Coach K.Winfield were finding it difficult to get any clear direction from the organisers as to the structure of the Final, and were only given 15 mins notice of K.O.

A tense and tough affair on a poor surface ensued, with the Met making 7 changes at half time.
Our depleated squad struggled to make any head way, and pushing forward looking for an equaliser conceded a second goal which killed the game off with 15 minutes to go.

A hearty performace from W.M.P but ultimately the larger squad of MetPol came out on top winning 2-0.

Well done to everyone involved.

A nunber of other Sports sections from across the midlands were in competition for this award but the outstanding personal and team achievements left the judges with no doubt that W.M.P Ladies F.c deserved formal recognition.

Well done Everyone.

For the second time in 6 months, W.M.P Ladies faced the Met Ladies in the final. The match was again close as can be, and was again destined to be decided by penalties.

With excellent weather conditions and over two days, W.M.P Ladies made it through to the final, scoring over 30 goals along the way.

The final presented a mouth watering tie with the Metropolitan Police Ladies FC.
After 40 minutes of tense, crunching football, the tie finished 0-0 and a Penalty shootout ensued.
