SORRY FOR THE DELAY .
Worden Rangers took another huge promotion step today with another good solid performance . Keeping the pressure on the teams above . Although again the team didnt get the fire from the k/o. The lads took a little while to get there stride and start to pass the ball around . A promising debut for Paul Battersby. The lad showed good speed and touch to boost his confidence , The ball came to Paul out wide and he took the ball past the defender to score a good goal. 1.0 Worden started to press the Kenlis line and it wasnt long before Simon Taylor struck the bar. then within minutes Paul Earnshaw also grazed the crossbar..It was the home team Worden who were now looking incontrol of the game and again Paul Earnshaw struck a fierce shot just over the bar.Earnshaw was having a great game here and was running at the backs finding spaces to knock through balls to fellow striker Taylor who in truth has found his hard work and form peak at the right time. it was a delightful bit of play a lovely through ball from Sean Carlton who fed Paul Earnshaw through to slot home his first and Wordens second . 2.0. From the kick off the Kenlis team tried a cheeky long range effort towards goal . which nearly paid off it was only the =safe hands of Brobyn who plucked it out of the air when it looked all on to dip over and in. Worden were awarded a free kick from Speakman saw a header just dip over the bar from Carlton. Worden looked like they wanted the game most here and then it was a matter of time before they scored again. Craig Speakman had a long range effort saved by the keeper. Kenlis did get a corner inswinging and again Brobyn tipped the ball very awkwardly over the bar. another great strike from Carlton was saved by Kenlis keeper. the pressure mounted by Worden was starting to tell on the Kenlis line and a very good through ball from Carlton found Simon Taylor who latched on to it and struck a great shot high into the Kenlis net 3.0 H/t 3.0.
Worden came out like they wanted to turn the screw even more on the Kenlis lads and found thereselfes time after time having strikes saved. Simon Taylor worked the ball well with earnshaw showing a lot of hard work and made space for Taylor turning and striking the ball past the keeper to give Worden a 4.0 lead. Worden were awarded another corner and a good delivery from Earnshaw found a very hard working Bellochi striking the ball into the Kenlis net . A great reward for Bellochi who ran himself into the ground. 5.0 shortly after Worden again broke through and it was Earnshaw who slotted the ball home for Wordens sixth and he,s second. 6.0 Kenlis did push up on occasions but the defence again looked very good and was solid to keep a well earned clean sheet for Brobyn. Kurtis Robinson came on the field and had a chance go wide . He did however latch on to a great through bal from Earnshaw who looked on fire today. A corner kick again saw Worden getting a seventh goal when the ball came out to Kurtis Robinson who bent the ball around the keepr adn it came back in off the post to give himself a another goal to had to his tally of 10 for the season so far. F/T 7.0.
