The Aberystwyth based Development Centre was opened on Thursday 27th September 2007 and was officially opened by the Mayor of Aberystwyth Ms Lorrae Jones-Southgate and MP Mark Williams.
The centre is for primary school children in Year 3, 4 , 5 and 6. The centre will focus on developing and increasing the skills of young talented footballers in the Ceredigion/Gwynedd/Powys area and provide them with a pathway to professional football. Whilst developing a professional attitude towards football whilst training with young players of like ability.
By having the centre in place will raise standards of play and develop the children as they will be competing against quality opposition on a regular basis and receiving quality coaching like other children receive at a professional clubs this will help the future of Welsh football in general
A career as a professional footballer is one that many children dream of from an early age. The centre will aim to provide the very best in football training as well as a proper infrastructure to look after every player?s educational and welfare needs. It?s main aim will be to protect and nurture each players special talents and ensure that talented players are given the very best opportunities and support to reach their full potential, which at the elite end may mean playing top domestic football.
The PG Development Centre has been hailed a success in it?s augural season by parents, players and generally local people involved in football.

For three years children in primary school in Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 have been given
1. Regular opportunities to play against other professional clubs.

3, Received a special Dragon Moves DVD of new skills and tricks each child will be required to practice and learn.
4, An information ?Players Pack?
5, Twice yearly written assessments of player?s progress.
6, Training Kit.
8, Information on healthy eating and a balanced diet
7, Above all an opportunity to develop in a fun and safe environment.
Opportunities on offer have been very beneficial for the children in their development. Playing Premiership sides such as Liverpool FC and Aston Villa FC the children will always remember and cherish
Already players have become attached to clubs at various age groups such as Aston Villa FC Swansea FC Cardiff FC Birmingham FC to name a few. This just proves the outstanding talent in Ceredigion/Gwynedd/Powys and the benefits of having a professional scheme working in the area to benefit local children.
