We started this season in excellent form, beating our main rivals in both games on the opening day. We were doing great until the weather hit and we had several weeks with no game. When we returned to playing, we just couldn't find the forum we began with and the draws and losses started creeping into our season. By January we had lost the lead and dropped to 4th in the table and our season looked over. Then just like flicking a switch, we returned to form once more beating several big teams and returning to the summit with a nice healthy lead. We kept that lead untilthe last game where Blackpool Rangers played their final match first and put themselves 1 point clear at the top. We knew that 2 points would clinch the title and that was clearly in the minds of all our players as we began what turned out to be a cagey last game. The first half flew past and we still hadn't got the goal we needed but it came in the second half much to the relief of everyone attending. The second followed after and then a third and we were already celebrating. A top class 4th goal capped off a great performance and one worthy of winning the league title. The second game was a particular highlight of our season when we came from 3-0 down at half time to win 4-3. It was an amazing comeback and it put the icing on the cake for me.

The effort all the players have put in has made me so proud and the support from parents has been unbelieveable. What we have acheived is fantastic and I hope we can impress in all future seasons like we have in this campaign.

Speacial Thanks go to Stephen Moore for providing liaison with all parents every week and for helping us prepare for matches when the pitch looked unplayable. Lynne Clegg for producing our quality website and keeping it updated with results and pictures she takeson match days. Frankie Roberts for organising a bank account for us and looking after funds for the majority of the season. Vanessa Strutton for her fundraising work and all the parents who have given up their time to help me set up / pack away after our matches.

I'd also like to Thank Ian Haworth and Barry Warne for their assisstanceon match/trainingdays, helping us to make sure all our players are doing what they should be and to Matt Clarke, my assisstant who has been there to bounce ideas off and has helped enormously with training and technical assisstance on match days.

Big Thanks to all parents who have always made great efforts to ensure I have a full squad to pick from every week. Not all managers are as lucky as I am to have such a great bunch of supportive parents on the sidelines. The particular highlight was when we played away at Blackpool Rangers and we had double their support which has been the case for most matches. You have all contributed to what has been a sucessful and enjoyable season.

Lastly I would like to Thank our Sponsors Carl & Sue Turner who have been extremely supportive all season and hopefully for the future too. They have also taken on the mantle of Treasurer recently and I'm sure under their expertise the team will prosper finacially.

We had plenty of highs and a few low points this season but I have to say I enjoyed every minute of it. I've been given a tremendous gift of having such a talented team and I am so grateful for it. I personally can't wait for the challenge that next season will bring and I hope we can rise to it and become the team I know we can be.
