YVFC Players Guidance 2008/2009





The following information is applicable to every player who signs to play for Yarm Vineyard FC:





NECFL Constitution: YVFC is an active member of the North East Christian Fellowship League and has agreed to follow the league constitution. When a player signs for YVFC, then they are also agreeing to abide by the expectations set out in the NECFL constitution.





Availability: Players must ensure that their contact details are up to date with the YVFC Management Team, particularly mobile phone numbers. A text message will be sent on the THURSDAY prior to the forthcoming match to check player's availability. Please ensure that you respond promptly to the message with either YES or NO! It is hoped that the only reasons why a player will be unable to play is through either a previous work commitment or attendance at a significant family event e.g. wedding. Please commit yourself to the team and ensure availability at all other times. This will provide the best possible chances of success for the team.





Selection policy: The YVFC Management Team will select the 'best' squad of players from those who declare their availability each week. Due to the large squad this season, some players will not be selected within the first team squad on a regular basis. Experience has shown that over a season, EVERY single player will be used and it is hoped that each player will demonstrate a commitment to the team even if not selected i.e. ‘waiting for their chance.’ EVERY player must continually prove their worth, as no one player is automatic choice for the first eleven.





Substitutions policy: Subs will be made very much in response to the dynamics of the match being played. There are numerous reasons why players are substituted e.g. injury, tactical reasons etc; but subs will not be made for the sake of doing it i.e. asking a player to slot into a position that is unfamiliar to them - this can prove ineffective and demoralising for the player/team. If a game is 'tight' then it may be unlikely that changes will be made. However, if the score line is well in our favour, or vice versa, then substitutions may be made to enable the players entering the game to affect the outcome further in a positive manner. Within a 'friendly' fixture, ALL players who declare themselves available will take part in the game.





Match day arrangements: (HOME GAME) Players must arrive at The King's Academy School at no later than 9.45am in preparation for a 10.30am kick off. This will allow sufficient time for the team to be named, get changed, the nets/corner flags to be erected on the pitch, conduct a team warm up and team talk. It is the responsibility of ALL team members to prepare the pitch prior to a match. (AWAY GAME) Players must arrive at MacDonald's, Durham Road, Stockton at no later than 8.45am in preparation for travel for a 10.30am kick off. The nature of the league results in significant distances needing to be travelled so please ensure that you are on time.





Fees: Match day fees (£4 for a full game & £2.00 for substitutes) should be paid promptly. A record will be kept of all monies submitted by individuals and frequent non-payment will result in non-selection in representing the club.





Football strips: The club/sponsors have spent a significant amount of money on ensuring that there are sufficient full strips available for players. To ensure that this is always the case, NO player will be permitted to take an individual strip home even if they need to leave the game early - experience has shown that this is how items go missing as they are not returned.





Website: The club website will be the main source of information and should be checked regularly. Club information, fixture list, results, match reports etc can be found within the pages available and it will be updated regularly.
