We entered in a couple of tournaments at the end of 2006/2007 season.
First up was Cambridgeshire FA tournament where we reached the semi-finals and lost out to Godmanchester Rovers in penalties.
Then we went into the Wisbech St Mary tournament where we reached the finals and was narrowly beaten by Peterborough Azures Ladies 1-0.
Finally we travelled to Thetford for the last tournament where we had a good day and ended up champions after we beat Kings Lynn Ladies 1-0 in the final. Overall the day went well after only conceding 2 goals all day.
Now we enter the 2007/2008 season where we hope to achieve alot.......
History (18/10/07)
The club has been running for many of years, however it has only been the last couple of years that Yaxley FC has put together a ladies team.
The ladies team started out as a 7 a side team, we played in a mini league where we entered 2 teams Yaxley Blue and Yaxley Red. We also entered a 11 a side competition where we were crowned champions.
Then in 2006/2007 season we attracted some new players around the fenland area and become a 11 a side team. We entered the 'Fenland and District youth soccer league' where we come runners up. However, we had the best home record in the league by winning 6 games and losing 1 and scoring a total of 42 goals and only conceding 5 goals at home, overall Yaxley Ladies scored 61 goals and only conceding 20 goals all season, the lowest in the league.
In the summer break of 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 seasons Yaxley Ladies joined up with local team McCains Ladies, and also signed a few new players so in total we have around 35 players. We decided to make two 11 a side teams and they are called Yaxley and Yaxley ladies.
